Locking good – the Hurst composite door

Combining style with strength, the composite door from Hurst Plastics boasts some of the very best security features available in the marketplace today.

The door now comes with a choice of two locking options - a Yale multipoint locking system, whose lock cylinder is endorsed by the Master Locksmiths Association and all leading insurance companies, and the new Vectis cylinder free multipoint locking system from ERA.

The Yale system is a result of an intensive development and testing partnership between Yale and Hurst. It is fitted as standard on the Hurst composite door to offer total peace of mind. With a stainless steel faceplate, the Yale lock boasts three hooks and a deadlocking latch. Its anti-bump and anti-snap Euro cylinder is kitemarked and PAS 24 compliant.

Yale’s accompanying range of suited, high security door furniture is now also fitted as standard to all Hurst composite doors. The unique high security door handle within the range is manufactured with a solid external backplate and is bolted onto the door from the inside, making it virtually impossible for an intruder to remove.

As an added option, Hurst is now also offering the Vectis multi point lock. Benefiting from a patented five lever operation which eliminates the need for a euro cylinder, the new lock cannot be bumped or snapped. It can also be keyed alike to other doors in the property allowing multiple doors to be accessed using only one key. Created to provide years of trouble free service, the Vectis has been designed to meet the requirements of PAS 23/24 and Secured by Design and has been function tested to in excess of 100,000 cycles.

The Vectis lock is also fitted as standard on the brand new Hurst stable door. The first of its kind in the industry, the cottage style door has a boarded door appearance and features a weather resistant central joint. The door comes in a wide number of colour options and in solid or glazed form with a square, diamond or oblong glazing cassette.

Every door in the Hurst composite range is complemented by an attractive range of suited door furniture in white, brass and chrome, which includes door knockers, numerals and letterplates. A colour co-ordinated weather drip adds to the visual appeal of the door. Optional extras include Yale’s state-of-the-art electronic door viewer, which allows homeowners to view live images of who is at the door. A date/time stamp records when visitors called. Hurst can even supply door sets with electronic operators, to provide safe and reliable disabled or communal access.

As part of Hurst’s commitment to fully support its customer base, the composite door is available on shorter lead times, which in most areas, is just seven working days. Hurst has also just produced a new full colour brochure on the composite door featuring the many new additions to the range.
